Houston is based on the compact solid font, by combining a variety of styles. That would really bring the uniform to life.I love the color scheme the way you had it first.

Good startI know I just barely wrote but I had another look at them, and I think you should use the red a bit more all over the uniforms, maybe with a number shadow/outline, or pants/socks stripe, and on the helmet. Very creative, and it gets the point across without being so obvious (although the ones on the pants shouldn't be upside-down; you could start them at the knee and taper upward - the Falcons and Cardinals have similarly-oriented triangles).bud's favorite colors are columbia blue, and red... that's why they wore/wear them.I don't know if I would wear them, but your ideas are original and have some good elements. On the other side, the font is still too dainty for pro football in Texas.
I think the regular logo on the helmet might be good, or a different more stylized O with the numbers. It looks tough.The number font isn't looking good for football uniforms in my opinion.
