You can charge the Macbook air, or Macbook pro, or anything for that matter so long as an electric charge can be entered into the battery. Is there a battery charging program that will read the status of the battery? When I check the system profiler/power line, the info says the battery is good, and is charging, but the battery indicator does not show charging but (not charging).
I have replaced the cable, as the connecting bit was slightly bent, …
If all test fail, then it has to be a problem with the PowerBook's circuit board, either the charging circuit or DC in-board.The only real why to test the charging circuit or DC in-board is by using another known working battery.
I believe they do exist.Three months is bad for a replacement battery, however this is influence by the brand of battery and the overall quality. If you look at the top right battery meter, does it say its not charging and show or show an X?i'm at a loss, I have an iBook G4 that seems to not like my replacement battery. Their is a problem with the DC in-board or charging circuit.Do you have someone you can borrow another battery from and try that? Not a big deal for me, as I'm not going be using the LCD anyway, but I thought it may be helpful to mention.I'm pretty sure the adapter is OK (since it charges the G3 iBook), I'll give replacing the DC-IN board a shot and report back here in case anyone else has this particular set of symptoms.Any suggestions on what the issue might be? When I try to calibrate the battery, it goes to about 12% and then never charges back up.I do not have a battery I can use to troubleshoot this. I have two battery charge cables one has the amber ring, the other does not...in either case, neither battery seems to charge at all. Thanks for your answer--though there were similar threads to this one where replacing the DC-IN board was the answer, it was unclear if the amber light still would come on or the adapter would be detected.I've got a 1.33MHz iBook G4, and here's the thing: I can plug in the power adapter (24.5V 2.65A) and it won't power up. I'm just not sure about the charging system cause I have a new charge adapter, and both batteries show good and not replace. The computer still recognizes the adapter is plugged in, but the battery does not charge, and the computer shuts off when the battery is depleted. 1. CoconutBattery 2.6.6 tells me also that the charger is connected, but the battery is not charging.I've also reset the PMU multiple times, and it doesn't seem to make any difference. One other thing, and I don't know if it's related (it's been unused long enough that I don't remember), but the LCD back light doesn't work. Hi, I've got a 1.33MHz iBook G4, and here's the thing: I can plug in the power adapter (24.5V 2.65A) and it won't power up. When I remove the battery from the notebook, it cycles the charging system to charge, then quit.

When I place my original battery in, it will show charging status, and after 10 minutes the charging ring will go from amber to green and never get more than 6 percent charging at a time. Relevance. Personally I tend to stick to Apple original or 2Power brands. Is this an original Apple replacement battery of a third party? I seem to remember a charging program awhile that did deep reconditioning of batterries. Login to reply the answers Post; Anonymous.
Have I got two dud batteries? Last night while using my 14" G4 iBook, I notice the battery was getting a little low, so I plugged in the charger. When I did, the charger plug did not glow at all, and while the battery icon on the menu bar changed from "battery" to "plugged in", it indicated the battery was not charging.
