@Akpinxit: I am afraid this won't happen. Making profits this year or past year means nothing if that profit is shrinking due to whatever reasons. It did. Childish name calling and emojis aren't going to erase these numbers. They are suffering from an issue impacting the entire market, and it is due to them not bringing in new customers. @Thoughts R Us - "But it's a myth that Nikon will exit the camera business. S lenses are winning awards all across the board.Because we could all run a camera companyPersonally, I think the Z cameras were their last chance, and they blew it. One welcome addition, on the other hand, is a built-in intervalometer for time-lapse photography. The hype here, namely that, "Sony sells more FF mirrorless than anyone else," is a joke ... because Sony was THE ONLY mfer who sold mirrorless ... up until a few months ago, lolThey do not see value in bringing customers in, thus they create entry level cameras with fewer features than even many point and shoot cameras from the past, while charging a steep price. In the meantime, I’ve built up an excellent MFT system from Panasonic and Olympus. I can actually get used to the ergos but the menu system is worse than Sony. "The six lenses, which are nearly identical in specs to their FE, RF and Z mount versions, include one wide-angle zoom, two wide-angle primes and three macro lenses. It's a shame really. I could afford a new DSLR, but I don't see anything that is revolutionary or exciting enough to make me want to move from what I currently have. Sony is a LONG way from failing in the mirrorless market. Bummer Nikon wasn't sincere with 1st gen Zs.
In the mirrorless era, I've more or less switched to Sony because I see that they are making the right moves and have the best technology. I can therefore just assume you are driven by wishful thinking about your beloved camera company.Markets are all about growth, If the new users who would have bought Nikon and only 5% of the existing users switch to Sony, then all that matters is Nikon's growth will be taken by Sony.
And the truth is, overall, Nikon outsells Sony in overall camera equipment.I completely agree. Strange that.We don't think Picasso or Rembrandt were great because they used such great paint brushes or canvases.Z7 could have been a perfect replacement of D850, only it has smaller buffer, single card slot and poorer battery life. Nikon D7600. What is holding the Zs back right now is ergos. $2499Well, don't tell my GF but she's getting a D7500+16-80mm f2.8-4E kit for her upcoming birthday. But, Nikon delayed that update for some reason. Not what Nikon DSLR shooters want.People said the same thing about Minolta: that Minolta wouldn't exit the camera business. It's all a bout cost and marketing.
