However, there is one silver lining for Coleman in 2020. Teaming up with his former Offensive Coordinator, Kyle Shanahan, Coleman was seen by most fantasy drafters as an easy RB2 in drafts last year.
I personally believe that Breida is a better back. While he did lead the way to start the season, at least in terms of carries, Coleman soon started losing snaps to other players like Matt Breida and Raheem Mostert. At the very least, he carries value as a high-end backup in San Francisco. It worked for them last season, and it will work again. I foresee a 800 rushing yard, 300 receiving yard, and 10 touchdown season. He averaged 12.6 points-per-game over this time, much more than his average on the season.
Mostert ended the season with 772 yards, while Coleman finished with 544. The role was pretty evenly split between Coleman, Breida, and Mostert, as they all ended up with similar target numbers. He finished with six weeks inside the Top 24, but only one of these weeks was as a Top 12 back. The last six games of the season killed Coleman’s stats and fantasy value.
