We are still travelling North and at the moment are in Antigua. We plan to stop again in Escondido, then in Samana, and finally in Punta Macao before crossing the Mona Passage but we end up sailing straight to Puerto Rico from Rio San Juan non-stop as the sea conditions are perfect and we decide to keep going.

The Mona Passage consists of Yabey, Bonafide & Vincent. Sailing Trio Travels.
Some sailors sail but this will obviously take much longer.If you fail to plan for sailing across the Mona Passage, the waterway between the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, you might find yourself in some majorly harsh sea conditions. Hopefully next sailing season we will be as far as you are now. The larger and higher the landmass the stronger the daytime heating and the calmer the waters will be near land.The plan was to leave just before dusk to take advantage of the night lee but Simon and I got anxious. Now, you can’t sail straight into the wind so many cruisers motor a direct route or at least the shortest route that is most sensible.
