I've also recently suffered the 3-4 day "Preparing for shipment" situation with Amazon on 3 separate orders over the last couple months.
Using USPS flat rate PRIORITY and USPS Regional Rate boxes allows us to ship all over with very little additional cost. No, you can’t do that. I watched a youtube video on how tough amazon packers' jobs are, and i would hate to have my whimsical requests make someone's job that much harder.
The shipping is the same for anything weighing less than 13 oz.
I just know from experience on ebay that shipping is alot higher to those areas. I received an email stating that they could cancel my order and it's now in cancelled orders history.
Can you please change the shipping status on the item so that I can cancel it? Your metric will not get hit. Select Cancel ticked items when finished. On each of the orders, the items were listed as "In stock" & available for same-day shipping. !People in Hawaii and Alaska are often offended by sellers that will not ship very light weight products to their state. Can you please change the shipping status on the item so that I can cancel it? Well, there is no such check box and if I try to cancel it tells me I failed to click it. ).That was not the question here, the question was, in what phase does “preparing for shipment” show up on the buyers side?
Sure would be nice if this could be explained by an S.S. rep (Susan?
Thank you again for your help! This replaced the “Preparing for Shipment” with “Shipped” in my “Your Orders”. There would be three stages for an order to go through, before delivery. Thanks!! Then you cancel according to buyer request. Assuming she had not purchased shipping from Amazon, or do a “Confirm shipment” until yesterday, there would have been no “phase between -her- printing the packing slip and the actual acceptance of a tracking number by Amazon’s systems”.
In my experience “Preparing for shipment” is the phase between you printing the packing slip and the actual acceptance of a tracking number by Amazon’s systems. This state would precede the other three though so I don’t think it would affect the Customer’s “Your Orders” states of “Not yet shipped”, “Preparing for Shipment”, “Shipping Now”, “Shipped”, and “Delivered”.Preparing for Shipping seems to only show up (and just sometimes) when ordering from a 3P, though I may certainly be wrong about this.In my experience “Preparing for shipment” is the phase between you printing the packing slip and the actual acceptance of a tracking number by Amazon’s systems. Thanks, again, for using the seller forums.I notice when I order things myself, it will sometimes say “preparing for shipment.” When people order from me, is this something I could manually select, or does the status display this on the buyer’s order’s page by default?Rugs…, I think you got that a bit backwards.Edited by: LDan on May 2, 2014 6:23 AMThanks for posting your question to the seller forums.
!It is time for everyone to start investigating true shipping costs before quickly trying to block lightweight items.Would I ship car tires to the mainland…or course not…If the buyer is please, you can ask buyer to request cancel. I asked them to cancel the order on their end. after the Seller confirms shipment, or after the actual tracking shows excepted at shipping facility. What about the order Pending state? After submitting the cancelation, we'll send you a confirmation message to the email address on your account.
Amazon will try to cancel orders that are being prepared for shipment if possible, but you may not always be able to.
Not sure what's changed, but something is certainly different.

Hi all, I placed an order for an Occulus Rift this morning on Amazon but have since saw that Best Buy near me has them available. Actually it completely depend on several conditions, I will help you with some points, please consider all of them: 1.
Not sure how to get this cancelled. We run our Amazon business from Hawaii and most certainly ship to the contiguous 48 states. Can you cancel an order on Amazon if it says preparing for shipment? I ordered a product on amazon.de but I had a change of mind and cancelled my order ,with a status: Preparing to dispatch. It is being pulled and packaged, labeled and staged for pickup by the carrier contracted to pickup at that distribution center.
