In celebration of 20 years since their victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the McLaren P1™ GTR, introduced in production form at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, resurrected the GTR name that McLaren had last used in the F1 GTR.

Years have passed since the original McLaren F1 GTR … That car isn’t as flashy in black and dark grey, but I’m sure McLaren will find a way to spice things up.The looks are rounded off by a special tint for the exposed carbon-fiber elements, as well as the unique livery.
The P1™ GTR was produced in only 58 units, at first only for P1™ owners. Lanzante took the codes and samples from the original F1, so the hues are the real deal.But arguably the biggest improvement is the longer body.Well, Lanzante didn’t say whether it meddled with the GTR’s drivetrain or not for this conversion, but the lack of info usually means that the drivetrain remains stock.At first glance, you can notice that the front fascia boasts a notably larger splitter. The latter retailed for around £2 million ($2.5 million as of April 2020) back in the day, so the P1 GTR-18 will likely fetch almost £3 million (about $3.7 million).
This specific model is finished in the Gulf Team Davidoff livery of the last F1 GTR produced by Lanzante for racing. The P1 GTR's Legendary Golden Cup was available between March 15-18 2019.
Lanzante will make five more cars and each will sport an F1 GTR-based livery. There’s no word as to what liveries we will see on the other cars, but definitely expect one based on the F1 GTR that won Le Mans in 1995.
The GTR is a commemorative track edition of the McLaren F1 GTR, so it isn’t street-legal. McLaren made only 375 examples of its P1 flagship model, but the track-only P1 GTR is considerably more exclusive since only approximately 40 cars were ever built.
There’s also a new scoop on the roof, which improves cooling to the engine, but it also directs air over the car to enhance aerodynamics.Pricing information is not yet available, but expect this highly limited model to cost significantly more than the P1 GTR.
