I know a lot about earphones and headphones and I've a friend with the proper box for the ie80 which came straight from Sennheiser. There are fakes of all the top Senn and AT iem there. None of which alter the facts, though. The top to bottom imaging is not particularly impressive but it is performs well enough to let me enjoy the sound without missing it. If you can justify the cost, and if your source player can justify it too, we think you’d be hard-pressed to find better. "Coincidentally", that same specifications "invoice" paper is in some "unverified authenticity" IE80 listings on eBay.

If you look on the box on the bottom you can find a code that you go straight to Sennheiser's website with to verify that yours is real.The ones they fake often are the IEM.Your cable bubble is false.

The fake IE8 body seems more "boxy" while the real IE8s seem more "organic" in their curvature. HD598 and lower tier models are commonly faked.
