Palo Duro Canyon State Park is the second largest in Texas after Big Bend Ranch State Park (which also has excellent mountain biking).

 Don’t be fooled though, there is some climbing to be done at the outset/northern terminus and on the way down. However, most of the more well-known spots in the state are located down south in Moab. Officially designated as a National Recreation Trail, it is 10 miles in length and is home to six different ecosystems.  Note:  it can get very hot in the summer.

The single track is way harder, but you get the most brownie points and bragging rights for it. You'll cross Pine Creek Road a couple of times along with the intersection to Indian Creek.
